This series is a collection of fragments from the process of immigrating and settling into a new place, an unmade bed, light falling through an unfamiliar window, a shared meal, a plant taking root, a mirror in an empty hallway. I began the project during the second semester of my master’s degree. None of these images tell a single story on their own. Together, they form something closer to how settling into a new life actually feels: uneven, ordinary, made up of small details that only later start to add up to somewhere lived in rather than just visited.
