In this series I have based my work on crafting. I have manipulated specific pictures by cutting or writing on different parts of them. This way, I got more connected to them as they were photos from my past. I’m present in some of the pictures but others are taken by myself. The handwritten sentences are part of the memories or just writings that I used to write in my diaries or other notebooks in the past few years of my life.
After the cutting and writing part, I glued each pair of photos (that were related to each other in terms of content or visually) on two sliding plexiglass plates and connected them in such a way that one of them could move horizontally on top of the other. This way, the lower image appears in the parts where the upper image is cut. As a result, a new photo is formed from the combination of these two photos. This can happen by moving the upper plexiglass plate on the lower one. It is up to the viewer whether they want to move it to the right or to the left to create their own image.
