Parvin wakes up every day between 8:30 and 9:00. Organizing is one of her most important habits. After breakfast, taken with her strange little potions, she starts cooking lunch. On days without housework, cleaning and arranging things happens on Wednesdays, she lies down for a while to rest. In the evening comes tea, followed by a simple dinner: bread and cheese, or hot milk. At 11:00 p.m., she applies her facial creams, then rubs rose water and glycerin into her hands, filling the room with their mild scent. If she falls asleep on time, the lights go off at 11.
This project grew out of an earlier collection in which I photographed my grandparents’ house and their way of living. After my grandfather left on a trip, my grandmother and I were alone together, and I decided to continue the project focused only on her. Her name is Parvin. I began photographing her habits, her behavior, and the quiet rhythm of her daily life.
